Vijayalakshmi’s desire to enhance the family income and build an identity for herself motivated her to become a homepreneur. She now juggles her duties as a mother and an entrepreneur with utmost élan.
Vijayalakshmi, a double-degree graduate, didn’t think twice before quitting her job to look after her newborn. While she happily fulfilled her caregiving duties, the desire to be financially independent again and contribute to the household income rekindled. She knew she couldn’t step out and work, so Vijayalakshmi chose to do the next best thing. She became a homepreneur which enabled her to earn her own money and left her with enough time to look after her child.
Vijayalakshmi learned the ins and outs of selling, reselling and running a business, and in no time, her business, Vijaya Collections, was ready. Although she started small, Vijayalakshmi had been keen to upskill and scale up her business. So when she heard about the WomenWill Program by Google, she chose to make the most out of the free training.
She learnt a lot about entrepreneurship through the training course provided through short, simple and vernacular videos. Specifically, she learnt how to promote her products better, reach out to new customers, get more sales and leverage ">social media for business promotion.
Vijayalakshmi became a homepreneur which enabled her to earn her own money and left her with enough time to look after her child.
Vijayalakshmi successfully applied this knowledge to her business and saw steady growth. She made her highest shop sales post her course completion and doesn’t plan to stop here. She is brimming with pride as she can finally fulfill her wish of supplementing the family income. She is also proud of the entrepreneur she is shaping out to be.
