Digital Women Awards were established in 2015 with a vision of celebrating and recognising entrepreneurs leveraging innovation to build on the internet. In the last eight years, we have brought a diverse range of firebrand women, all united by their success in and passion for digital from across India. From Salem to Siliguri, Bathinda to Bengaluru, these awards bring women entrepreneurs across big and small cities to one forum, giving them a platform to interact and connect over shared challenges and successes.

In India, less than 30 percent of the female population goes to work. Today, especially in a post-pandemic world, there is a tremendous need for women to join the workforce and create opportunities and value for themselves. One way in which women are taking the stage is by opting for entrepreneurship and becoming job creators rather than just job seekers.

9 Years Of Putting The Spotlight On Women Entrepreneurs

There is a mini-revolution at work, both in urban and rural India, that is helping women entrepreneurs give wings to their ideas with technology. While there is a long way to achieve a more equal world and see more and more women entrepreneurs lead their companies to scale, the journey has surely begun.

The theme of the awards this year is 'Access to Success'. As women build small and big enterprises, one big gap they face is in the spotlight they truly deserve. From the intent of building the business to growing it to scale, stories of ‘how she did it’ are often left behind.

The theme also serves as a reminder of the fact that the country doesn’t just need to pay more attention towards the work women entrepreneurs are doing but also celebrate them as role models and widen the opportunity and inspiration cycle for others.
