Sujata Mondal is a member of the TMC party in West Bengal. She is also the TMC candidate for Bengal Assembly Elections and is contesting from Arambagh Constituency against Madhusudhan Bag of BJP.

Mondal, who is also the wife of BJP MP Saumitra Khan was recently allegedly attacked with bricks by Masked men on Tuesday. Last year in December of 2020, Mondal made headlines when she joined the TMC party when her husband was part of the BJP.
Previously Mondal also campaigned for her husband's election single-handedly, when he was contesting in the 2019 elections from BJP.
When asked about why she changed parties, Mondal replied that she wants to be respected and get credit for her work.

- Sujata Mondal is an Indian Politician born on December 8, 1983.
- She has been representing the Bishnipur constituency, West Bengal in the Lok Sabha since 2014.
- At present, she is contesting from the Arambagh constituency.
- Before joining politics herself, she supported her husband in his political advancements.
- When she decided on joining TMC, her husband Saumitra Khan announced that he will divorce Mondal as she has joined the rival party.
- He also removed the security and the car that was in front of her residence.
- Previously Mondal's husband Saumitra Khan was also a member of the TMC before he switched to BJP and Mondal used to be an important part of his campaigns.
- Mondal, who earlier quit BJP said, "I started working with the BJP when no one could imagine its rise from two Lok Sabha seats to 18 (in the last general elections in 2019)." Mondal added, "I struggled for the party so much but I did not get my due respect".
- "Those who sent people to ransack our house have now joined the BJP. I did everything for the party, braving life threats. But the BJP has not honoured that. Instead, they are welcoming people from other parties," she told the media expressing her disagreement with the party.
