Mamata Banerjee has been banned from campaigning for 24 hours after she was accused of violating the election code. She was banned following her for allegedly asking people to revolt against central security forces.

- The Bengal Chief Minister, Banerjee announced a sit-in protest against the ban.
In a statement via microblogging site Twitter, Banerjee said, "To protest against the undemocratic and unconstitutional decision of the Election Commission of India, I will sit on dharna tomorrow at Gandhi Murti, Kolkata from 12 noon."
This ban comes at a time there are four more rounds of voting still to happen in Bengal Elections. Mamata Banerjee is standing again BJP's new found leadership in Bengal and campaigning led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
