CPIM female candidates: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Wednesday released its list of 83 candidates for the upcoming Kerala assembly election. Out of the total, the party is fielding 12 women.
The candidate list also notably features several youth members and advocates. Since the party follows a two-term policy, 33 sitting MLAs will reportedly not contest the election this time.
KK Shailaja, state Minister of Health and Social Welfare, will contest from the Mattannur constituency. She is currently the CPI-M MLA representing the Kuthuparamba constituency.
