Bengal Election TMC manifesto highlights: Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday released the election manifesto for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) party, with a focused ten-point breakdown of "ongikars" (promises) that form her vision for West Bengal if her party comes to power in the 2021 state assembly elections.

Under strategies of social justice, the party pledges ensuring steady financial streams for women in Bengal, with monthly income support to female heads of family across 1.6 crore households, at a rate of Rs 500 to general category families and Rs 1000 to SC/ST families.
"For the first time, female heads of 1.6 Cr households will benefit from a monthly Basic Income Support scheme, students will be able to take loans upto ₹10 Lakh using Student Credit Card at 4% interest rate only," Banerjee says.
The manifesto concentrates schemes for the youth on promises of over 5 lakh job creations annually, and for marginalised sections, provision of basic amenities and household incomes led by economic prosperity aimed at making Bengal the fifth-richest state in India.
