A video from Maharashtra came to light, where the students were made to stand on the road to welcome a minister. In the video, reportedly from a local school in Jalgaon district's Amalner tehsil, students can be seen standing in a row along the roadside to welcome a minister.
Schools are supposed to be temples of knowledge, a place where students are supposed to have all-round development, build skills, and get educated. However, not all schools treat their students well and often subject them to things they don't deserve to do. The boys and girls were made to stand in separate rows on either side of the road, and as the minister's cars come closer, they stand up to salute the minister, who is none other than the newly sworn Nationalist Congress Party MLA Anil Patil. Anil Patil was among the eight MLAs from the party that recently joined the Maharashtra coalition government along with Ajit Pawar and were made ministers in the state government.
Students Stand On the Road To Welcome Minister
The minister can be seen smiling and waving while the students salute him and wait for him on the roadside. The students allegedly belonged to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe communities and studied in an ashram shala. The video is going viral on the internet, and people have expressed their disappointment with the way the minister is treating the students after coming to power.
Meanwhile, the police have said that neither they got any information about the incident, nor received complaints regarding the matter. The video has raised concern over the treatment of students, especially from backward communities, in the school.
We often come across incidents where students were mistreated in schools. Sometimes it is about a teacher physically assaulting students, other times, it is about poor facilities. Such incidents hint at corruption in the education system.
