Viral Video: Gujarati Shopkeeper Returns Foreign Tourist’s Lost Wallet

Recently, a heartwarming video surfaced on the internet in which a kind Gujarati shopkeeper returned a foreign tourist’s lost wallet, keeping up with the Indian spirit of “Atithi Devo Bhava” which means a guest is equivalent to a God.

The incident happened in Bhuj, in the state of Gujarat and a foreign tourist named Steph, a video creator who travelled to India in 2022 shared the story on social media.

She narrated how her wallet with money and her essential documents got lost while she was travelling by train in India.

Gujarati Shopkeeper Returns Tourist’s Wallet

Four days after losing her wallet Steph got a message on her Instagram from a shopkeeper named Chirag who found her lost wallet.

In the video, we can see how Steph along with her husband met the shopkeeper and collected her wallet from him, as a sign of gratitude they even offered him some money which the shopkeeper refused to keep with a smile.

The selfless act by the shopkeeper named Chirag overwhelmed the tourist so much that she failed to hold back her tears. Steph shared her views on how so much negative news is spread around the world regarding India but there is so much positive instead of it. Her husband Pete too expressed his views and claimed, that India is a beautiful country.

The video went viral and people from around the globe are getting overwhelmed by the selfless and heart-touching gesture by the shopkeeper Chirag, many Instagram users took to the comment section of the video posted by Steph on her Instagram account to express their views on the incident, one such user wrote, "Proud of people like Chirag. Felt so happy watching this video. I hope more people behave like this",
