Bizarre: Indian Soap Shows Doctor Checking Blood Sugar Using Blood Pressure Machine

Indian TV serials are known for overdramatic reactions, farfetched scenes and plotlines, and throwing logic out of the window. From washing laptops with soap to breaking off a piece of the moon for lady love (who said love was dead?), there is no shortage of weird moments. However, we cannot reduce Indian soaps to weird scenes, as they also ask viewers serious questions such as, “Why am I watching this?” and “Rasode mein kaun tha?”

The Indian soap Saath Nibhaana Saathiya has once again made headlines, but this time it wasn’t a clip of the beloved Gopi Bahu or Kokilaben. Instead, a clip of a lady doctor that had come to do a checkup on one of the characters who had fainted.

One Twitter user posted a clip showing the doctor using a blood pressure measuring apparatus. The doctor then said that the patient’s sugar level had dropped, which resulted in the patient feeling dizzy and fainting. The user who had posted the clip wrote, “BP apparatus can check sugar levels”.

The clip went viral and Twitter users didn’t hesitate before they started making quips and memes about the bizarre scene. One user posted a stock image of a doctor tearing paper and tweeted “Doctor’s tearing their degree after watching this ”. Another user tweeted, “Your type had less air that’s why wiper was not cleaning the windshield ”.

This is not the first time audiences have been shocked by Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. With 2,184 episodes, there are bound to be some peculiar scenes, but Saath Nibhaana Saathiya takes farfetched to a whole new level.

Its first claim to fame is the iconic scene where Gopi Bahu washes her husband Ahem’s laptop with soap and water, before hanging it on the clothesline to dry.

In another episode, Gopi Bahu is declared dead by the doctors. Instead of mourning or displaying any normal human behaviour, Ahem gets angry and shouts at her and demands green tea. This display of love suddenly makes Gopi Bahu come back to life. After all, who are women if they are not men’s servants? And why are all of the doctors in Saath Nibhaana Saathiya incompetent?

In 2020, a particular Saath Nibhaana Saathiya scene grew infamous after Yashraj Mukhate made a remix of the scene. The ‘Rasode Mein Kaun Tha’ video went viral.
