Woman Gets Quilt Made From Her Late Father's Shirts; Video Leaves Internet Emotional

A woman gets a quilt made from her father’s shirts to keep his memory alive after he passed away. Her late father’s shirts were sorted according to the colour and made into quilts.

Nikhita Kini shared a video on her Instagram account to share the process behind getting the quilts made. She had sent her father’s favourite shirts to a social enterprise that specialises in quilting.

There, the shirts were assorted in accordance to their colour, pink and blue. Then, quilts were made out of her later father’s shirts. She described the process as turning “my dad’s most prized possessions- his shirts, and made it into an heirloom”.

The video ended with a clip of her father with a caption that read, “Always keeping us warm even from beyond.”

In the caption for the post, Kini spoke about how she and her mother would pick out shirts for her father according to the colour of his pants. She added that if they were away, he would call them and ask about what shirt he should pair with which trousers.

Kini also said that when they would go shopping, he would get the most expensive shirt because he wanted it to last for years. She thanked him for choosing to do so, as “his shirts will indeed last us forever”.

In the comment section, people shared their experiences with loss and called the quilt made from her late father’s shirts a “beautiful way of preserving memories”. One user said that they would love to do something similar with their grandmother’s sarees.

In another incident of preserving the memory of a late family member, a brother gifted his sister a wax statue of their late father on her wedding day. He arranged for the wax statue to arrive on his sister’s wedding day at the venue. The viral video showed the bride, her mother, and guests at the wedding tearing up at the wax statue of the late deceased father.
