Viral Video Shows Jawed Habib Spitting On A Woman's Hair

In a viral video that is circulating on the internet, Indian hairstylist Jawed Habib is seen spitting on a woman's head and exclaiming that his spit has 'life'. The woman is seeing sitting on a chair getting her hair done when the popular hairstylist spits on her head. The video has left everyone wondering what Jawed was thinking while he did such a ridiculous deed.

The video is reportedly  taken at a training seminar in Muzaffarnagar, UP. During the training, Jawed Habib is seen examining the hair of the woman and complaining that they are very dry. He is seen giving tips to the audience present at the seminar when he casually spits on the woman's head saying that his spit has life in it. The audience is seen clapping and laughing in the viral video.

The National Commission for Women on Thursday said it has taken cognisance of the incident and chairperson Rekha Sharma has written to UP DGP to immediately investigate the veracity of the viral video and take appropriate action.

After the video went viral, the woman in the video, on whom the hairstylist spit, came forward to put her opinion about the video. The woman, whose name is Pooja Gupta, is reportedly from Baraut. She runs a beauty parlour by the name Vanshika Beauty Parlour. She attended the seminar where she was asked to volunteer for a haircut on stage by Jawed Habib.

While she initially felt like it was an honour to interact with a reputed hairstylist, she was not expecting such a treatment. The woman expressed her thoughts through a video in which she is seen saying that Habib wanted to show that you can do a haircut by spit if they don't have water.

The internet is disgusted by the insensitive act. "Absolutely disgusting. And who are those people clapping? Really? REALLY?" said a user on Twitter, criticising the utter amusement of the audience while the woman in the video was humiliated in the crowd. Another user said, "These celebrities think no end of themselves... I wish he had spitted on each one of those in the audience who laughed."

The authenticity, exact location and date of the video is not yet confirmed. However, if it is indeed true the act demands an explanation.
