The news agency ANI posted a video that showed how the couples' marriages were significantly affected by the rain. The bride and groom who arrived at the temple were shown in the video walking though a water-logged road.

On the flooded road in Chennai's Pulianthope neighbourhood, they strolled hand in hand while covered by an umbrella. Five weddings that were planned to take place in the temple, according to the agency, were postponed, and the couples who did arrive there were thoroughly saturated.

"Following today's rain, five weddings slated to take place at Pulianthope's Anjineyar temple were postponed. Couples waiting to get married were wet as they made their way through the water-logged interior of the temple. These nuptials were planned months in advance," the agency stated.

One of the grooms who braved the intense rain to get married urged the administration to take prompt action to drain the water that had gathered inside the temple grounds. The groom pleaded with the government to at least clear the temple grounds and other public spaces since "temple is saturated and we have gotten wet."

On November 11, a number of areas of Chennai and its surrounding regions experienced moderate to heavy rains. Schools and institutions were temporarily closed in a number of districts, including Chennai, Tiruvallur, Villupuram, Kancheepuram, and others, due to the weather.
