ADM Manjusha Roy slaps youth: In an incident reportedly from Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh, Additional District Magistrate Manjusha Roy raised her hand on a young man who was present on location of a shop open in violation of the state's ongoing COVID-19 curfew.
As a video of the same goes viral, netizens are questioning the extent of authorities using their power to impose social protocol during the pandemic. In recent weeks, there has been an uptick in violence from both uniformed and non-uniformed officers against citizens, as other videos on the internet have shown.
Roy slapped the youth two days ago while accompanying policemen admonished shopkeepers for opening their shoe outlet during curfew hours, an NDTV report said. Many social media users are demanding that action be taken against Roy.
