The entire team of Adipurush is currently busy with events and promotion of the film as the release date of the movie is approaching. The epic tale of Lord Ram and Sita will soon hit the screens and the team is looking for religious blessings through temple visits. On June 7, the team paid a visit to Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati Temple along with the director Om Raut. Everything was fine until a video clip from their visit did not go well with some netizens.

Adipurush Controversy: Kriti Sanon Om Raut Kiss At Tirupati

In a video of the team exiting the premises of Tirupati Temple, Kriti Sanon, and Om Raut can be seen biding each other goodbye. They hug each other and kiss on the cheeks while they part ways, a gesture that offended some people. In a now-deleted Tweet, BJP leader Ramesh Naidu Nagothu called them kissing outside the temple an indecent and disrespectful act. He asked the celebrities why they can't tone down their PDAs in religious places.

Some netizens also criticised this gesture and slammed the actor-director online. The team was at the temple after the successful release of the movie's final trailer. After the visit, Om Raut posted on his social media that he cannot put the amazing feeling into words. He expressed his happiness regarding the temple visit and the release of the trailer.

Adipurush is the on-screen adaptation of the Hindu mythology Ramayana starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh. The makers had to delay the release of the film after its teaser received backlash and they have to change the VFX and visuals of the film. The movie, which was supposed to release in January 2023, will now be releasing on June 16, 2023, and hence, the team is busy with promotions.
