Veteran actor Satish Kaushik passed away due to a heart attack on March 8, 2023, at the age of 66. The actor and filmmaker is survived by his wife, Shashi, and daughter, Vanshika. Anupam Kher, who was a close friend and fellow actor, has been a father figure to Vanshika following Kaushik’s passing, ensuring she has someone to look up to and rely on. On June 14, Vanshika took to Instagram to share a message: "Happy Father’s Day, Anupam uncle!"

Moreover, Kher, amidst his busy schedule in films and projects, always finds time to connect with Vanshika. Recently, he shared a video where they discussed her school exam results. In the video, Kher, though not visible, asks Vanshika about her performance in various subjects. She happily shares that she did well overall, excelling in English but struggling a bit in maths.
They also talked about her holiday plans, with Vanshika mentioning her ongoing tuition classes and the importance of revising during breaks, as suggested by her mother. Anupam humorously remarked that her mother wants her to stay busy during holidays, to which Vanshika agreed with a smile.

Satish Kaushik's Daughter Reads Letter For Him
On April 14, 2023, on the occasion of the late actor's birth anniversary, Anupam Kher, made sure that he was remembered and celebrated for his life and contribution to the entertainment world.
Kher found the perfect way to honour his late friend by hosting a musical night for him, bringing together the industry's greats under one roof. From Shabana Azmi to Anil Kapoor and Javed Akhtar, recalled their memories of Kaushik. With a lump in his throat, Kher shared with the audience how Kaushik appeared in his dream and asked him if he was not doing anything for his birthday, a trigger which helped him plan the musical night.
The audience had Kaushik's wife, Shashi, and her daughter in attendance. The duo sat and watched celebs pour their tributes to Kaushik. The turning point in the musical evening arrived when Vanshika took to stage to read a letter she had written to her dad before his last rites. Vanshika, who had written a letter to her dad and asked her uncle Anumpan Kher to put it on his remains at the funeral, had taken a photo of the letter on Kher's insistence. She finally read the letter aloud and, in no time, the audience was moved to tears.
The letter read, "Hello Papa, I know that now you are no more but I want you to know that I will always be there for you. Your friends taught me to be strong but I can’t live without you. I miss you so much. If I knew this was going to happen, I would miss school just to spend time with you. I wish I could have hugged you once."
As seen in the video, Kaushik's family and friends teared up halfway through her letter. She continued, "You are still in my heart. I do not feel like going to school anymore. I don’t know what my friends will say. Will they make fun of me?' Whenever I felt sad, Dad would always ask, ‘Vanshika, do you want to go on a lunch date to JW Marriott?’ Once when I had my school exhibition, he made me laugh with his weird dance moves while I was performing my dance."
She concluded, "Please come in my dreams every single day. I have done pooja for you and want you to be in heaven and live a happy life in a big mansion with a Rolls Royce and a Ferrari. You will eat great food. Please don’t be reborn, we will meet in 90 years. Please remember me, I will remember you forever. I had the world’s best dad ever."
Vanshika's letter to her dead dad not just made everyone emotional but also stressed the father-daughter bond that is as strong as it can get.
