"I Was Not The First Choice For The Film", Taapsee Pannu on Haseen Dillruba

Taapsee Pannu interview: In her latest interview, actor Taapsee Pannu revealed that she was not the first choice for her upcoming crime thriller Haseen Dillruba. It came to her after the makers had exhausted all their options. The movie is set to release on the OTT platform Netflix on July 2. It is written by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Vinil Mathew. Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane are among other actors playing significant roles in the film.

In an interview with Navbharat Times, actor Taapsee Pannu said that she liked the concept of Haseen Dillriba. But she was not the first choice for the film. "Unfortunately, I was not the first choice for the film. It eventually came to me, after they exhausted all their options," she said.

Talking about the movie to ANI, the actor said that it is not just a beautifully written mystery but also has wonderful characters. The Pink lead then said that she got an opportunity to experiment with her look in the movie. She believes that she is not the go-to person for this kind of character conventionally and that everyone loves taking risks here.

Taapsee Pannu to play Rani Kashyap in upcoming movie

In an Instagram post, Pannu talked about her character Rani Kashyap. She said, "Abhi aankh mein khatak rahi hoon toh kya…kabhi toh dil mein dhadkungi. One line that sums up Rani Kashyap!"

She has earlier worked with Kanika Dhillon in the movie, Manmarziyaan. Dhillon lately took to her Instagram handle to write, "Before all the 'Haseen' madness begins my friend-@taapsee just want to say it's been a joy ride with u- from Rumi #manmarziyaan to Rashmi to Rani #haseendillruba and more". She added that Pannu was an artist, a friend, a muse and of course, a fellow sardarni!

Pannu was last seen in the 2020 Anubhav Sinha film Thappad. Besides Haseen Dillruba, her upcoming movies also include Loop Lapeta, Shabaash Mithu, Rashmi Rocket etc.
