And at the forefront of this art is none other than Noor, a trailblazer who has defied all odds to become the first Indian live wedding painter. Join us as we delve into Noor's inspiring journey, marked by an unwavering commitment to turning dreams into reality.
Here's Noor's Story In Her Own Words
"I was 17 when I was diagnosed with an auto-immune disease, psoriasis. Since it couldn't be cured, I was advised to control my stress, as it was causing my skin to swell up. The problem was that you can't control stress, and for the diseases, they hear no excuses. So, I had to learn to manage stress along with some lifestyle changes.
I was in my graduation year when the pandemic happened. I came across a video by Bob Ross. His paintings were so soothing that I could watch them and
entire day without blinking an eye. I fell in love with art. The next thing I knew, I was doing oil paintings myself. As time passed, my skills improved. But by then, I had done a terrific job! I got all consumed with work, and my passion took a back seat. I remember sitting in the courtroom and doodling at the back of my file in my free time. I was certainly missingthe opportunity to paint.
One day, I came across a video of an American artist who used to do wedding paintings! I whispered to myself, "Mujhe bas yahi kama hai." I started the hustle of coming back from work and painting throughout the night to master this skill. But the real question was how to start it professionally.
I was waiting for my first gig when I learned that an acquaintance was getting married. Weddings are the most special event in one's life, so I took a chance and pitched my idea. They simply loved it and let me paint their beautiful day on my canvas. Everyone was speechless, and I had the biggest smile of satisfaction and achievement on my face. At that moment, I decided that this was what I would do for the rest of my life. I decided to quit my job and follow my heart. I came home and explained my decision to my parents. Mom said, 'Jaldi jaa and quit karde!'
But who knew? My struggle had just started. For 2 years, I had no work. To top it all, relatives would mock me. All this would take a toll on my mind and add to my frustration. The stress triggered my disease, and things became really difficult. But then, Mom and Dad always had my back.
Ever since then, I have been painting happiness on my canvas. I had my highs and lows, but honestly, looking at the overwhelming reaction of my clients makes me feel like I am on the right track."
