Karishma Tanna, recognised for her standout performance in Scoop, adapted from Jigna Vora’s book Behind Bars in Byculla and directed by Hansal Mehta, wasn't a newcomer to the industry. Prior to this, she had already made her mark with roles in Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju, starring Ranbir Kapoor, and had been a part of several television series and shows. However, it was her breakthrough role in Scoop that she attributes to her success in the industry.

In an exclusive conversation for SheThePeopleOnTour, Bollywood actor Karishma Tanna shed light on her journey as an outsider in the entertainment industry. Despite facing numerous challenges, Tanna's resilience and determination have propelled her to success, earning her recognition for her acting prowess.

"So my journey has been challenging yet rewarding. I feel if there are no challenges, you don’t enjoy the reward. And I don’t come from any filmy background; I had no industry touch; I come from a non-filmy Gujju upbringing family, so the struggles were real.” Coming from a non-filmy background, she encountered numerous hurdles on her path to success. However, rather than letting these obstacles deter her, Tanna embraced them as opportunities for growth and learning.

A Journey Of Auditions And Determination

"I gave a lot of auditions, and there were a lot of struggles and determination, and I am where I am. And I am very proud of where I have come. Because of the experience and because of the continuous auditions you are giving, meeting different people and understanding how the industry works, I enjoyed my struggles, I would say." She shared how each audition served as a learning experience, helping her gain a deeper understanding of the industry and honing her craft as an actor.

"When you get that success, you enjoy that also, and my journey in this industry has been really, really good; I did not regret it even for a second. I love my journey and the fact that every actor wants to grab that opportunity; we need that stimulation; we need that experience to face challenges that grow in our lives."

After years of hard work and dedication, Karishma found success in the industry. Her breakthrough role in Hansal Mehta's Scoop earned her widespread acclaim, proving her mettle as a talented actor. She concludes by saying, "After Scoop, people say, Aree ye kaha thi ab tak, and I like hearing that I have heard it many times that 'why we had not explored her before', and that was the only vision Hansal Mehta sir had in her mind that changed my life. I proved myself as a good actor, and there is a good feeling inside me as an actor that yes, I did prove myself."
