Carson Pickett And JoJo Tidd's Elbow Bump

On April 16, 2019, the soccer player posted a photo of the two for Limb Difference Awareness Month. "Soccer means the world to me, but the platform" that soccer provides me for things like this takes the cake. Joseph, you’re my new hero for life."JoJo and Carson first got together in Orlando, when Carson played for a team there, where JoJo and his family resided.

Surprise Reunion

However, Carson was taken aback by this recent reunion, which was set up by ION producer Dave Trager. He made plans for the Tidds to go by plane from Florida to Kentucky, tricking Carson into believing she would be interviewed. When Carson opened the door of the room, JoJo entered rather than a reporter. At that moment, Carson was astonished. Her face lit up with happiness. She pulled JoJo for a bear hug.

Carson Pickett, soccer player for Racing Louisville FC, reunites with Joseph Tidd, 6-years-old, for a pre-show segment set to air at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 before a National Women's Soccer League doubleheader. The two went viral after bumping elbows in a 2019 photo.

Carson said, "This relationship with JoJo has definitely meant the world to me." "You were so young when I first met you—I think you were about three—but as soon as you saw my arm, you knew we were the same."

Limb Awareness

Carson and JoJo's story sheds light on the realities of limb differences, which affect approximately 1 in every 1,900 babies born in the United States. Infants born with deformities of the limbs are born without arms, legs, fingers, or toes, or with parts of them missing or shaped differently. For JoJo, his limb difference serves as a reminder of Carson, whom he admires as a role model and friend. His affectionate nickname for his limb, "lucky fin," reflects the positive impact Carson has had on his life and the bond they share.
