Paul Jr in a heartwarming video can be seen visiting his mother's grave before his graduation ceremony wearing a simple white shirt and beige pants. He carried a yellow bouquet to offer his mother. In the video, Paul Jr can be seen softly addressing his mom, "Mommy, I have something to say." and continues sharing his big achievement with his beloved mom saying "I did it. I did. I graduated today. I know you’d be so proud of me, and happy, and I love you so much."

Paul Jr can be seen getting a little emotional as he offers the flowers to his mom along with kissing the gravestone affectionately.

Paul Jr, after his mother's demise, has been living with his father Paul Sr who shared with KLSA that his son was born with just one kidney and a defective heart and shared that his health complications peaked just a year before his graduation as he suffered kidney failure, where one kidney was donated to him by his father while one of his heart valve had to be also replaced.

Paul Sr shared how despite the struggles Paul Jr did not let the hardships dampen his spirits. Paul Sr also shared the mother-son bond describing how for LaTonya, her son was her world, and she always wanted the best for Paul Jr as her dying words were, "I want to see Paul Jr graduate." This signifies the importance of Paul Jr celebrating his achievements with his mom and why it meant so much to him.
