A disturbing incident unfolded when a pregnant woman and a dog owner engaged in a heated argument inside an elevator regarding the use of a muzzle on the dog. The confrontation, captured on video and widely shared on social media, has sparked discussions about dog attacks in the country.
In the video, the dog owner is seen standing with her dog inside the elevator. Although the dog is leashed, it is not wearing a muzzle. Upon encountering the dog, the pregnant couple expresses concerns about the potential danger to the expecting mother and requests that the dog owner use a muzzle. However, the dog owner outright rejects their request.

Amid the escalating argument, the pregnant woman expressed her frustration by stating that numerous issues were arising in society and questioned the dog owner's common sense. She further inquired if the dog owner was aware of the news regarding dog attacks. In response, the dog owner made a derogatory remark, implying that dogs bite people like the pregnant woman. She adamantly refused to comply with the request to use a muzzle, even if they were to wait for an extended period.
As tensions continued to rise, the video concluded with the husband questioning the character of the dog owner. In turn, she retorted by asserting that she was superior to the pregnant woman.
The viral video garnered significant attention on social media, with Twitter users swiftly expressing their opinions on the incident. One user highlighted the issue of certain pet owners failing to understand the fear that others may experience. They emphasised the importance of pets wearing muzzles, particularly in confined spaces like elevators, for the safety and comfort of everyone involved.
The dog owner involved in the incident has shared a new video in which she clarifies her position. In a Twitter post by the account named Richa Srinet, the woman explains that she faced severe mental distress due to the online abuse she received following the widespread circulation of the video depicting the argument. She alleges that during the dispute, she was subjected to derogatory comments, such as being referred to as a person who owns a cheap dog and an expensive leash. Speaking in Hindi, she admits to responding to the attacks when they became more malicious.
In the video, she reveals that the pregnant woman said, "50 rupees ka kutta aur 200 rupees ki leash," and questions the notion of assigning a monetary value to animals or birds, emphasising their intrinsic worth. Additionally, she expressed her frustration at one of the residents pulling out a phone to record the altercation, which further aggravated her during the incident.
