Florida Woman Sentenced For Stealing Joe Biden's Daughter's Diary

Aimee Harris was sentenced to one month of jail along with 3 months of house arrest and three years of probation by Manhatten Federal Court. Harris found the diary of the young Biden at a friend's house at Delray Beach in Florida, where Biden was temporarily staying for the spring of 2020. Harris found Biden's digital storage card, her diary, books, and luggage and stole "everything she could get her hands on."

The prosecution claimed Harris' motive behind her actions was to destroy Ashley Biden's father as the incident took place during the re-election campaign in 2020. However, the defendants state that their actions were just in an attempt to gain profits.

Harris was friends with the house owner where Ashley Biden stayed and the house owner allowed Harris to stay at the house. Ashley Biden, in her diary, had reportedly documented her recovery journey from drug abuse that was later even published by another organisation.

Harris along with co-defendant Robert Kurlander, who was later sentenced on the same day had earlier attempted to sell the diary to Donald Trump's campaign who refused to bite into it. The duo then took the diary to the conservative right-wing news outlet Project Veritas, known for its undercover investigations placing even hidden cameras exposing many democratic politicians, journalists, and labour organisations and embarrassing many other news outlets.

Project Veritas gave Harris 20,000 dollars out of 40,000 dollars for the different belongings of Ashley Biden. In August 2022, Harris pleaded guilty in court and following her plea she missed many court hearings to which she justified expressing her regret and stating she was busy taking care of her two children stating she does not think she is "above the law" and claimed she is a survivor of "long-term domestic abuse and sexual trauma." Harris also apologised to Ashley Biden during the hearing.

As per the sentencing memo, the prosecutor said, "Stealing personal belongings of a candidate's family member, and selling them to an organisation to exploit them for political gain, was wrong and illegal no matter the political agenda."
