The woman had apparently visited the lottery headquarters in October to collect her 100,000-dollar prize. She was on her way home when she stopped at a gas station called Speedy Gas in Dover and visited the Tiger Mart on campus. She decided to purchase a ticket from the Mart itself and ended up winning a 300,000 dollar lottery prize to her credit.

The woman told the media that her best friend had accompanied her to the headquarters to collect the first prize and that they two were together when she won her second prize as well. "My best friend was the first one I told about winning the prize, and she accompanied me to claim it. However, when I scratched the $300,000 winning ticket later in the day after I purchased it at the local Mart, we just stood shocked, in disbelief. It was insanity," she said. She further shared that she planned to put both the winning amounts in her retirement fund.

The acting director of the Delaware lottery Helene Keeley sent her congratulatory wishes to the woman, stating, "Congratulations to the lucky player on the rare and impressive double win. It's great to see players winning six-figure prizes," adding that their company Instant Games will continue to shower the same winning surprises people trying their luck at the scratch-off card games.

Double lotteries, although once rare, have lately become more common than you think. A few months back, a woman from Iowa won her second lottery prize worth $100000 within two years of her first win.  The second lottery she won was a result of scratching a Hit It Big ticket, which shockingly has odds of 1 in 116,808. The woman planned to use her winning money to pay off her previous debts and then eventually start her own business.

Earlier this year, a man in his 60s grabbed his third lottery win in twenty-seven years. He used numbers from his truck's broken odometer to fetch a ticket, which proved to be a good luck charm for him and he lucked out. According to Maryland Lottery officials, the man had purchased his truck with its faulty odometer stuck at 82,466 miles, which he used as his playing numbers every day since.
