US Woman Mysteriously Disappears At Bahama's Yoga Retreat

A 41-year-old US woman has mysteriously disappeared after going to the Bahamas to attend a yoga retreat. Taylor Casey went to the Caribbean country to attend the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat. She was last seen on June 19 around Paradise Island. Casey's family members are "deeply concerned" about her safety and well-being. They believe that she is in some kind of danger because she never disappeared like this before. This incident happened amidst the warning issued by the US State Department to all travellers going to the Bahamas to take extra caution because of its increased crime rate.

As per the reports, the Yoga Retreat also confirmed about Casey's disappearance. On June 25, it said that the police were informed about her missing. On June 20 morning, Casey didn't attend the morning session although she was seen on the evening of the previous day. 

The retreat centre said, "The Ashram is asking anyone with information on Casey to contact the local police. In the interim, it is collaborating with the authorities on their investigation."

Casey's family is urging everyone with any information about their daughter to reach out to them. The worried mother of Taylor Casey told a media portal, "We are deeply concerned for Taylor's safety and well-being. I believe Taylor is in danger because she was eager to share her yoga retreat experience with others upon her return."

The family is expected to travel to the Caribbean country and assist in the investigation and search of Casey. The family members have given a description of Casey mentioning that Casey is a Black American with light skin. Her height is 5 feet and 10 inches with thin personality. She has natural hair which is often covered. Casey, an "intelligent, deeply caring, thoughtful and joyful person," has been practising yoga for 15 years. 

US State Department's warnings about the crime rate in the Bahamas

Casey's disappearance raises concern as it happened amidst the warnings about the crime rate in the Bahamas. Earlier this year, the US State Department cautioned every traveller to the Bahamas and Nassau about the crime rate. The department said, "Violent crime, such as burglaries, armed robberies, and sexual assaults, occur in both tourist and non-tourist areas."
