US Student Failed For Using Term "Biological Women"

The 20-year-old student claimed that her professor for the Women's Gender Studies in Pop Culture class failed her because of the professor's use of the "exclusionary" phrase. Students were required to choose a feminism-related topic for the course. The 20-year-old student chose to follow the changes that female athletes have gone throughout history, as well as the rights and opportunities that they struggled for and received in athletics.

Krolczyk said in the now-viral video that she received a zero on a project proposal because she used the word "biological women," which is reportedly no longer acceptable. She even remarked that the project idea was strong. "However, I received a zero since this phrase was used in an exclusionary manner, which is now against the rules," she stated. "And I 100% know that this is like the most biased grade ever since my project is about transgender people doing sports that are for biological women. If I am not allowed to use the term biological women, how am I going to complete my final project? But that's the topic of my project."

The professor shared an image of the 0 grade with the undergrad student and told her that the phrase "biological women" is discriminatory, fostered heteronormativity, and is not permitted in the course.

"The final grade is based on the very few assignments we have, adding up to 200 total points," she told the New York Post. The total of all grades for this particular assignment is 100 points, or half my grade. However, Krolczyk has contacted the university’s Gender Equality office, which told her it would have a different professor review and grade her work but for the grade change it will take two weeks time.
