A former chief of staff has filed a lawsuit against California state Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil, accusing her of sexual harassment and misconduct during his time working for her. California Senator Accused of Using Male Staff as 'Sex Slave'

Condit, who is the son of former Congressman Gary Condit, alleges that he was subjected to unwanted sexual advances while serving as her chief of staff. He claims that Marie pressured him into performing explicit acts while travelling for work, stating that he reluctantly complied for years to keep his job.

He described the relationship as “quid pro quo,” saying it led to physical injuries, including back and hip issues. The lawsuit further claims that Condit sustained a serious back injury during one of these encounters, resulting in three herniated discs and a collapsed hip.

According to Condit, when he began refusing Marie’s advances in August 2023, she retaliated by issuing a disciplinary letter and accusing him of inappropriate behaviour. He alleges that he was fired in December after continuing to reject her demands.

Legal Action and Response

Condit is seeking monetary damages for lost wages, emotional distress, and loss of employment benefits. In response, Senator Alvarado-Gil’s attorney, Ognian Gavrilov, called the claims “outlandish” and financially motivated, denying any wrongdoing. He stated that the senator is confident she will be cleared of the allegations. “We expect that the senator will be fully cleared of any wrongdoing of these bogus, financially motivated claims,” he added.
