The Guinness World Records are famed for referencing and honouring human achievements and natural extremes. When they discovered this woman, who exists like a "moving canvas," they were mesmerised by this unique and brave move.

Guinness Records also considers the thoughts behind actions. Her tattoo trope follows the theme of "turning darkness into beauty."

I feel surprised: Woman says on being honoured by Guinness Records

"I feel both honoured and surprised about joining the Guinness World Records family," she says.

She also said that while she does not confine herself to the traditional beauty standards, her style is very perceptive. For some people, it may be liberating and for others, it can come across as odd and not understandable. And she says she is fine with both perspectives.

She also recalls how she has been in complete awe of the Guinness Family ever since she was a little girl.

"I grew up admiring the Guinness World Records books and record holders as a child and I am blown away to be featured in one now. I am so grateful."

The 36-year-old Army veteran has tattoos on all parts of her body and has altered all her physical body parts as well. Her body is carved in ink. She has undergone 89 body modifications in the past 10 years.

Her tattoos cover her hands and feet completely, even her scalp. The private and delicate areas of the body like the tongue, gums and genitals are also covered in ink for the most part.

She has gone under the knife many times, especially for her tongue, which is forked into two parts.

The motivation behind

Esperance soon after completing her education got admitted to the US Army. This was her family profession and she was happy to continue their legacy. She also dives deep into her motivation behind the body modifications she has gone through and the connection it has with her Army background.

She feels her creative spirits and colourful vibes were somehow oppressed because of her commitment to being in such a serious profession. So, when she finally retired, these spirits captured her with even more power.

"The creative flow mostly came after military, but perhaps the lack of it while in pushed me towards it," she added.
