More About Rhabdomyosarcoma
According to Mayo Clinic, Rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare cancer that originates from a cluster of cells in soft tissues, which are responsible for supporting and connecting various organs and body parts. This cancer most commonly begins in muscle tissue.
While rhabdomyosarcoma can develop in any part of the body, it is more frequently found in areas such as: head and neck, urinary system, including the bladder, reproductive organs, such as the uterus, vagina, and testes, and arms and legs.
Treatment for rhabdomyosarcoma typically includes a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. The specific approach depends on factors like the tumour’s location, size, and whether it has spread to other parts of the body.
