Lola de los Santos, Miss Uruguay 2021, paid tribute to Sherika De Armas, stating that she will always remember her, not only for all the support she provided and her desire to see her grow, but also for her affection, her joy, the friends they shared, and the lasting impact they have left with her.

At the 2015 Miss World competition held in China, 26-year-old Sherika De Armas did not make it into the top 30 contestants. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that she was among the select group of only six 18-year-olds who participated in the pageant.

During an interview with NetUruguay at that time, she shared her aspirations, saying, "I always wanted to be a model, whether a beauty model, an advertising model or a catwalk model. I like everything related to fashion and I think that within a beauty pageant, any girl's dream is to have the opportunity to participate in Miss Universe. I am very happy to be able to live this experience full of challenges."

In addition to her participation in the Miss World competition, Sherika De Armas ventured into the beauty industry by launching her own makeup line, and she offered various products related to hair and personal care under the brand Shey de Armas Studio. Furthermore, she dedicated her time to supporting the Perez Scremini Foundation, an organisation focused on the treatment of children with cancer.

More About The New Treatment

As per the BBC report, 250 women diagnosed with cervical cancer underwent the new treatment, which involves an intensive six-week regimen of carboplatin and paclitaxel chemotherapy, followed by the standard treatment of radiotherapy combined with weekly cisplatin and brachytherapy, referred to as chemoradiation. Meanwhile, another group of 250 women, labelled as the control group, received the conventional chemoradiation treatment.

After a five-year follow-up, it was found that 80% of those who had received the new treatment were still alive, and 73% had not experienced a cancer recurrence or spread. In the control group, 72% were alive, and 64% had not witnessed a cancer recurrence or spread.
