Robert De Niro's Grandson Leandro Rodriguez Dies At 19

American Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro is grieving the death of his nineteen-year-old grandson. De Niro's daughter Drena De Niro announced the death of her teen son on social media through a post dedicated to him.

Robert De Niro's daughter Drena De Niro took to her Instagram to share a picture of her 19-year-old son Leandro De Niro Rodriguez and wrote a heartfelt note for him, announcing his death on Monday. She wrote, "I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly". She went on to write how he was the joy of her life, and she couldn't imagine her life without him. 

Robert De Niro's Grandson's Death

Leandro De Niro Rodriguez was the son of Drena De Niro and artist Carlos Mare. The 19-year-old has worked as an actor in A Star Is Born that released in 2018. He acted alongside his mother and played the character of George 'Noodles' Stone. The mother-son duo had also starred together in The Collection (2015) and Cabaret Maxime (2018). The cause of the death is not yet known. 

In another post on Instagram, Leandro's mother took to a comment to declare that her son indeed passed away due to the 'fentanyl-laced pills' he was sold. “Someone sold him fentanyl-laced pills that they knew were laced yet still sold them to him,” Drena De Niro wrote. “So for all these people still f------ around selling and buying this s---, my son is gone forever.”

The news of Leandro De Niro Rodriguez's death comes more than a month after the 79-year-old actor welcomed daughter Gia Virginia Chen De Niro with his girlfriend, Tiffany Chen. His death comes as a shock to the family and friends, and many extended condolences on the post-Drena de Niro shared.

51-year-old Drena De Niro is Robert De Niro's eldest daughter with his ex-wife Diahnne Abbott who he adopted in 1976, the same year when they welcomed their biological son Raphael. Robert De Niro has two sons with his model ex-wife Toukie Smith and a son and a daughter with Grace Hightower. He welcomed his seventh child with Tiffany Chen in May 2023.
