Reese Witherspoon stunned all on Friday by announcing that she and her husband, Jim Toth, are divorcing only days before their 12th wedding anniversary.

On March 24, the actress and her talent agency announced their divorce through Instagram, stating that they took the ‘tough choice to split’ with ‘a great deal of care and consideration.’ The couple also stated that they are concentrating on their family, including their 10-year-old son Tennesee James, through their divorce and requested privacy.

Witherspoon and Toth had ignited dating speculations after being seen eating dinner together in Santa Monica in February 2010. By December they were engaged.

Before their divorce, the couple kept their relationship fairly low-key.

Witherspoon married her Cruel Intentions co-star in 1999, when she was 23 years old and already pregnant with their first child.

They divorced in 2008 after they separated in 2006.

Despite a few hiccups, which they both blame on being so young when they decided to marry and create a family, the exes are now able to co-parent as friends.
