When United States President Joe Biden ended his reelection bid to endorse Kamala Harris on July 21, the Democratic leaders didn’t anticipate the overwhelming support she received within hours of launching her campaign. Four hours into the launch, a group of 44,000 Black women convened over a Zoom video call and managed to secure $1.5 Million in donations. By 24 hours, Harris' campaign had made a whopping $81 million.

According to reports, many influential personalities attended the call, including Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher, musician PINK, author Glennon Doyle, activist Andrea Gibson, and more. By the end of the 90-minute meeting, the women had raised over $2 million for the Democratic politician.

An X user excitedly wrote, "150k white women on #AnswerTheCall. To support a woman of colour. There are no words to describe what I've been feeling the past few days. I thought seeing Obama get elected was the highlight of my life, but I was wrong. This is history,!"
Women Of Colour In High Spirits
Kamala Harris is in the race to be the first woman President of the United States of America, and the first woman of colour. On July 21, an organisation called Win With Black Women set up a Zoom call to encourage Black women in the country to discuss her campaign and donate.
While the organisers had expected somewhere between 10,000 to 20,000 voters, they were pleasantly surprised by over 44,000 enthusiastic women showing their support for Harris. The Black women and allies raised generously donated, raising $1.5 million within just three hours of the campaign.

Former President and First Lady Barrack and Michelle Obama endorsed Kamala Harris' presidency on July 26. In several States, the percentage of registered voters supporting Harris has surpassed the Republican candidate Donald Trump. The support for the Indo-American leader, especially from women, underscores her growing momentum as the potential President of the United States of America.
