The first lady was in high Halloween spirit. She was seen wearing cat-like ears, a tail, and a black nose, explaining that she was dressed as her cat, Willow. In contrast, Jean-Pierre opted for a halo and angel wings, expressing her choice of this costume instead of a devil-themed one.

Halloween Fun At The White House

As reported by the New York Post, as the children dressed in costumes approached the driveway, the President placed M&M's or Hershey's Kisses into small containers marked with the presidential seal and placed them in the children's bags or pails. The first lady distributed books to them.

The White House informed that Jill Biden, a dedicated lifelong educator, conceived the "Hallow-READ!" theme, along with decorations that showcased well-known literary figures, spooky stories, and a ghost story session. A military band performed instrumental renditions of songs such as "Thriller" and "Monster Mash."

The first lady read "Ten Spooky Pumpkins," a counting book during the event, "enjoy yourselves and indulge in plenty of candy," she said to a gathering of dressed-up children after she finished reading the book.

Following the reading session, the president and first lady devoted approximately 90 minutes to greeting children from nearby public schools and military families who had received invitations.
