Is There Hope For Childhood Cancer?
Cancer has been known to take several lives, including that of innocent children. Although modern medicine has advanced up to the point where childhood cancer can be treated, it still doesn't mean that we have conquered childhood cancer in any way, as the hundreds of deaths per year would tell us. According to the American Cancer Society, 1040 children under the age of 15 are expected to die of cancer in 2024, out of the almost 9620 American children who were diagnosed with cancer this year.
However, the bright side to this is that almost 85% of children diagnosed with cancer will beat it and recover in the five years following their diagnosis, which is great news for young cancer patients like Lola.
Kristine also feels positive about Lola's recovery. "There are so many people who love you! There are so many people waiting for the day when we say that you are cancer-free." she wrote in her post, also saying how Lola is meant to be the testimony to God's miracle.
Netizens and followers shared the same sentiment. "I hope everyone fighting cancer can win this battle.", wrote one user.
"She's so strong," remarked a follower, hoping that God would heal her.
The post was equally heartbreaking as well as a testimony to how difficult a childhood cancer diagnosis can be. At the same time, it was heart-warming to see people come together to wish Lola a good life ahead, proving that our humanity persists even in the face of tremendous adversity.
