Kevin Jonas Shares Skin Cancer Diagnosis, Undergoes Surgery
On Tuesday, June 11, Kevin posted an Instagram video discussing his skin cancer discovery and subsequent treatment. He began the video by saying, “So today I am getting a basal cell carcinoma removed from my head," as he pointed the camera towards the affected area on his forehead. "Yes, that is an actual little skin cancer guy that started to grow, and now I have to get surgery to remove it," he added.
The video captioned "friendly reminder to get your moles checked," later showed Kevin post-surgery with a gauze tape on his forehead, concealing the surgery scar with an emoji. As he left the hospital and headed home, he continued to encourage people to "get those moles checked."
This incident has highlighted the importance of regular health check-ups and being vigilant about changes in the skin. Skin cancer, particularly basal cell carcinoma, is one of the most common types of skin cancer but is also one of the most treatable when caught early. Kevin's open discussion about his diagnosis and treatment serves as a crucial reminder for others to be proactive about their health.
Kevin Jonas got married to Danielle Jonas in 2009; together, the couple has two daughters. In a related update, Kevin's brother Nick Jonas also shared a health update with their fans. Nick revealed that he had caught the flu, resulting in the postponement of their upcoming tour until August.
