Jonathan Majors, popularly known for his performance in Creed III, was arrested on domestic violence charges in New York on Saturday following a quarrel with a 30-year-old woman.
According to a statement from the New York Police Department, Majors, 33, was arrested after making a 911 call from an apartment in Manhattan's Chelsea area.

As per the statement, ‘the victim alerted police that she had been attacked.’ According to authorities, the 30-year-old lady suffered ‘minor injuries to her head and neck.’
As stated by the NYPD, Majors is charged with strangling, assault, and harassment.
Priya Chaudhry, Majors' attorney, claimed that the actor is ‘totally innocent’ and was ‘probably the victim of an altercation with a lady he knows.’
‘We are rapidly compiling and submitting information to the District Attorney with the hope that all charges will be dismissed imminently,’ Chaudhry said in a statement released on Sunday.
According to the lawyer, the proof would include two written statements from the lady recanting the charges, as well as video footage from a car where the alleged event as well as statements from the driver and other witnesses.
‘All of the evidence shows that Majors is completely innocent and did not abuse her in any way,’ Chaudhry added.
As reported by the NYPD, Majors is no longer in police custody as of Saturday night.
After the claims, the US Army said that it is withdrawing two recently issued recruitment posters starring Majors, stating that it is ‘very concerned.’
‘Although Mr Majors is presumed innocent unless proven guilty, prudence requires that we withdraw our advertisements until the investigation into these claims is completed,’ the Army Enterprise Marketing Office said in a statement.
The actor recently he portrayed Damian Anderson in Creed III alongside Michael B. Jordan. He also recently appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania as the Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror. His most recent film, Magazine Dreams, which premiered at Sundance, has been bought by Searchlight Pictures and will be released in theatres on December 8. The actor has also committed to appearing in Amazon Studios' Da Understudy.
