In an emotional interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 57-year-old actor expressed her shock and deep sorrow at the tragic news.

Reflecting on her time as a guest star on the iconic show Friends in the 1996 episode The One After the Super Bowl, Roberts fondly recalled the warm reception she received from the cast. She reminisced about the enjoyable experience of playing Chandler Bing's childhood classmate, emphasising the kindness shown to her by the cast during her brief appearance.

Roberts expressed her grief over Perry's shocking demise and said, "The sudden passing of anybody so young is heartbreaking." She added, "I think that you know, it just helps all of us just appreciate what we have and to keep going in a positive way as best we can."

During six months from 1995 to 1996, Matthew Perry and Julia Roberts were in a romantic relationship. Perry shared in his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, that they were engaged in a three-month courtship off-camera while Roberts made a guest appearance on Friends. In the book, Perry delves into the details of their relationship during that time.

She said, "If he didn’t hear the ‘laugh’ he thought he was going to die. His life depended on it. And boy did he succeed in doing just that." She admired his ability to succeed in making people laugh, showcasing his comedic brilliance and devotion to his craft.

Aniston shared personal anecdotes from their recent interactions, reminiscing over their exchanges through texts. She wrote, "In the last couple of weeks, I’ve been pouring over our texts to one another. Laughing and crying then laughing again."

Expressing ongoing affection and love for Perry, Aniston conveyed her belief in his peace and freedom from pain. "Matty, I love you so much, and I know you are now completely at peace and out of any pain. I talk to you every day… sometimes I can almost hear you saying 'could you BE any crazier?"
