As the 2024 United States Presidential election unfolds, several celebrities have publicly spoken about whom they would be voting for on November 5. Democratic leader Kamala Harris stands at the precipice of making history as the first female President of the country while Republican Donald Trump hopes to be reelected to make up for the disappointment in the 2020 polls. From Taylor Swift to Elon Musk, here are all the celebrities who have spoken about their Presidential choice this year.
Taylor Swift Endorses Harris
Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris for the president of the United States just moments after the end of Harris' presidential debate against Donald Trump. In an Instagram post on September 10, the pop star said she had done her "research" and is voting for Harris "because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them."
The singer said she was in part motivated to share her voting decision with the public after an AI image of her falsely endorsing Trump was posted on his website. Swift announced the news alongside a photo of her with a cat and signed it "Childless Cat Lady", a reference to comments made by Donald Trump's vice-presidential candidate JD Vance.
Republican Vice President nominee JD Vance landed in trouble after a sexist remark he made about childless women in 2021 has been doing the rounds on social media. Voters and prominent celebrities have hit out at the Ohio Senator for an interview where he said the country is being run by "a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable in their own lives... and want to make the country miserable too."
'Childless Cat Lady' Remark
Vance's interview in 2021 with Fox News journalist Tucker Carlson has recently been going viral since he was announced to be the running mate for Donald Trump in the US Presidential election. He can be heard criticising several women and LGBTQ+ Democratic politicians including incumbent VP Kamala Harris.
Vance also took a dig at New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg for being childless. According to reports, Buttigieg and husband adopted twins soon after the interview aired in 2021. As the video has now been circulating online, many voters have criticised the Republican politician.
Vance, who is a father of three, has been banking on a 'family first' image throughout his political career. "How does it make any sense that we’ve turned our country over to people who don’t really have a direct stake in it?" he is heard saying in the controversial interview.
Harris' Stepdaughter Reacts
Kamal Harris' stepdaughter Ella Emhoff had a witty response to Vance's 'baseless attacks'. “How can you be ‘childless’ when you have cutie pie kids like Cole and I?" the 25-year-old supermodel said on her Instagram story. Ella and Cole Emhoff are the children of Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff and Kerstin Emhoff. Ella further added, "I love my three parents!"
Whoopi Goldberg Slams Vance's Stance
Actor Whoopi Goldberg spoke up too. The 68-year-old retorted, "How dare you?" as she described the diverse experiences of childless women-- some who chose to not have children and some who struggled to conceive. Goldberg has also recently been part of a campaign that supports abortion rights, according to her Instagram posts.
Jennifer Aniston Votes For Harris
Hollywood actor Jennifer Aniston declared on social media that she "proudly voted for Kamala Harris and [Democratic VP pick] Tim Walz." She said in an Instagram post, "Today not only did I vote for access to health care, for reproductive freedom, for equal rights, for safe schools, and for a fair economy, but also for SANITY and HUMAN DECENCY."
Earlier, she also took to her Instagram stories to hit back at the tasteless 'childless cat lady' comment made by Vance. "I truly cannot believe this is coming from a potential VP," she wrote. Aniston has been vocal about her struggles with fertility and her IVF journey.
Beyonce Supports Harris
At a recent Democrats rally in Texas, Beyonce took the stage to introduce Harris as the “next president of the United States," and urged voters to “vote not just as a celebrity, but as a mother" committed to unity. According to tabloids, the Houston-native musician also refused her song being used in a Republican campaign.
Eminem Backs Harris
Eminem has long criticised Trump and this election is no different. At a recent rally in his hometown in Missouri, he supported Harris and encouraged young voters to engage. The 'Rap God' even welcomed former President Barack Obama on stage to rap along to his song “Lose Yourself."
Some other celebrities who support Trump include actor Mindy Kaling, TV host Oprah Winfrey, musician siblings Billie Eilish and Finneas, singer Cher, and actor George Clooney among others.
Elon Musk Votes Red
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is a Republican who has attended rallies and shared pro-Trump sentiments on social media. He has reportedly donated over $119 million to Trump’s campaign and pledged millions of dollars to advocates for free speech and gun rights. He has also changed the bio on his X handle to reflect support for Trump.
Hulk Hogan: Trump
Former wrestler Hulk Hogan spoke at the Republican National Convention and called for a 'Trump-a-Mania' in America. He also expressed disappointment with the current state of the US under Democratic President Joe Biden's rule. He even got Trump to endorse his beer brand.

Amber Rose Supports Trump
Model and actor Amber Rose appeared at the RNC and shared how her opinion of Trump changed over the years. She claimed that the media has "misrepresented" the Republican leader. Amber Rose even changed her Instagram profile icon to an AI-generated picture of Trump.
Some other celebrities who support Trump include actor Russell Brand, content creator Jake Paul, retired footballer Brett Favre, and former Olympic athlete and reality TV star Caitlyn Jenner among others.
