A 23-year-old Indian student who has been missing in the United States since May 28 has been located and is safe, according to police. Nitheesha Kandula has been found, according to Police Chief John Guttierez of California State University, Saint Bernardo Police Department, who wrote on X (previously Twitter). However, he did not reveal how or where she was discovered.

Indian Student, 23, Goes Missing In California
Kandula disappeared on May 28 and was last seen in Los Angeles before that. She is a student at California State University, San Bernardino, and her missing report was turned in on May 30, according to Police Chief John Guttierez's post on X. Kandula in her report was described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 160 pounds, with black hair and black eyes. It is believed that she may have been driving a 2021 Toyota Corolla, though the colour of the vehicle is unknown.
The California State University, San Bernardino Police, in collaboration with the LAPD, have reached out to the public for any information that could aid in finding Nitheesha. On Sunday, John Guttierez, Chief of Police at CSUSB, posted on X.
"#MissingPersonAlert: California State University, San Bernardino Police, along with our partners in #LAPD, is asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of @CSUSBNews Nitheesha Kandula, to contact us at: (909) 537-5165," according to the police.
Kandula, an Indian studying in California, is originally from Hyderabad. She was among several Indian students at Cal State University, San Bernardino, who annually study abroad to obtain better academic and career opportunities. Her family and friends are devastated by her sudden absence and have turned to social media for help.
The Indian Consulate in San Francisco has notified local authorities and offered cooperation to speed up the investigation. In addition, they have made a statement asking Indians Residents in the area to be cautious and report any unusual activity or information to help locate Kandula.
