Now, 28 years later, the triplet sisters are all OB-GYNs and work with their mother.

In an interview with Today, Gertsen said that she never pushed her daughters to follow in her footsteps but is proud of how it worked out.

Joanna, Vicky, and Sarah completed their medical residencies in 2017 and joined their mother at New Age Women's Health in Florida, the United States.

Each of the sisters has their own speciality, Sarah usually sees patients with skin conditions and sexual dysfunction, Vicky usually does surgeries, and Joanna usually provides miscarriage and pregnancy termination care.

Since the triplet sisters share the same last name, the doctors go by Dr Sarah, Dr Vicky, and Dr Joanna.

Dr Joanna was horrified when she saw her mother deliver a baby when she was only 8 years old and decided that she "definitely" didn't want to be an OB-GYN. However, while in medical school, she found that she was leaning towards gynaecology and obstetrics.

She described gynaecology as a great mix of primary care, surgery, procedures, and being able to care for patients through phases of their lives.

In 2022, the sisters announced that they were shifting their focus to gynaecology and would not be looking after pregnant patients.

Dr Vicky, who is 35 weeks pregnant spoke about how her sisters would not be delivering her baby. She said that while she trusted her sisters, she would rather have them there as a sister and aunt for her unborn child.

Janet Gersten founded a clinical research company and runs it with her daughters Joanna, Sarah, and Vicky.
