US Couple Welcomes Baby Girl, First To Be Born In Family In 138 Years

Audrey was born almost two weeks ago to a couple in the United States. According to Good Morning America, her arrival marks the first daughter born on her father's side of the family since 1885.

"It was incredible for all of us to have the first daughter," the new father says

Girl Born In US Family After 138 Years

Carolyn Clark, the new mother, said she couldn't believe it when her husband informed her 10 years ago that they hadn't had a girl child in a long time.

She told the site, "' Well, it's a 50-50 possibility every time,' I say. What exactly do you mean?' 'No, seriously, we haven't had a daughter in our straight line in over 100 years,' he says."

Ms Clark stated regarding the family, "I approached his parents to corroborate that information, and they answered, 'Oh yeah, no, we haven't had a daughter in our straight line. He's had uncles and relatives who have had girls, but no girls have been born in his family."

The couple had a miscarriage in 2021, therefore the arrival of this little one offered them even more delight. "We honestly didn't care whether we were expecting a boy or a girl when we found out we were pregnant. We were just grateful to be pregnant and prayed for a good pregnancy and baby. The fact that she was a girl was just icing on the cake, "Ms Clark continued.

Stuffing of the Customised Cookies Amused Them

The couple invited their relatives for a party in September last year, where they bit into customised cookies to find out the baby's gender. Unexpectedly, the stuffing was pink.

Mr Clark recounted the incident and told Good Morning America that they also kept it a secret. Even she just imagined there would be blue in the centre of the cookies and another male in the lineage. Thereafter, she was stunned and standstill. She ruminated that she had only stared at the cookie’s centre as if it were actually pink. So it was a pleasant surprise."

The Joy of Mother Knew no Bounds

The new mother expressed her family's delight at the arrival of the baby. Eventually Almighty has graced us with a lovely daughter and our whole lineage is elated enough to have a glimpse of a daughter in over 130 years. Moreover, the baby is healthy and the birth also went smoothly. Adding further, Andrew elaborates to the publication the level of difficulty they had to confront to come up with a name because they had never thought of a girl’s name before.

Audrey was born on March 17 — St. Patrick's Day — and brought the family "simply joy," Carolyn said, adding that the arrival was "even more wonderful" because their daughter was “well worth the wait" and all the challenges." Carolyn Clark also remarks that interrupting the Clark family's 138-year string of boys was "icing on the cake." The whole family is ecstatic with the company of their new family member.
