Florida Deputy Holds Exhausted Manatee

A woman deputy from The Pinellas County Sherrif Marine and Environmental Unit got a call from a woman that there was something wrong with a manatee in the Intracoastal waterway. Though sometimes citizens inform the department after misunderstanding the manatee's behaviours which the animals were more likely to do on red tide levels high alert. But the deputy officer still took a call to once go and check.

But when Jill Constant, the deputy officer saw the animal, she knew the manatee was in great distress and the concerned officer already knew she had to help the poor animal out. So they immediately docked the boat, took their equipment, and got into the water to rescue the animal.

The animal was breathing abnormally and was trying to reach a rock so it wouldn't drown as the animal was in bad shape to swim. But the officers went to rescue it and held the manatee's head above water for two hours unless the rescue team didn't arrive.

Deputy Officer Jill Constant said "This manatee is going to die right in front of us. And I'm not letting that happen."
