US Teacher Who Was Suspended Over OnlyFans Account Now Resigns

Missouri high school teacher, Brianna Coppage, 28, who was suspended from her position at St. Clair High School after school district officials became aware of her OnlyFans account, has now resigned, as per reports. 'Ready for peace,' said Coppage.

Coppage revealed that she was put on leave following an interview with two administrators.

Resignation Amid Controversy

Coppage who was earlier suspended on September 27, after tendering her resignation has now opened up on the matter. According to the New York Post, the English teacher said, "I have no intention of engaging in a war with the school district. I just want peace."

She further said that she understands how nothing is going to be the same again even if she wins the battle and returns to school. "It is the most suitable choice," she said.

As reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Coppage who taught English used the alias Brooklin Love for her content on OnlyFans. 

Coppage decided to join the subscription-based platform during the summer as a means to supplement her income as a teacher. She teaches English to freshmen and sophomores and had an annual salary of approximately $42,000 last year, as indicated in the publicly available pay database. She further stated that she has been earning an extra $8,000 to $10,000 each month by providing content on OnlyFans.

Coppage explained that she opted for this platform because it restricts access to its content to subscribers only, and she believed it would help safeguard her anonymity.

'This Day Was Coming'

Coppage said that she had suspected this to be happening soon. She constantly felt as though there was an impending uncertainty, never knowing when her situation would become public knowledge. She described it as a lingering concern, akin to a cloud over her head. 

Approximately two weeks ago, both Coppage and her husband were informed that information about her OnlyFans account was beginning to surface, confirming her expectation that this day would eventually arrive.

Coppage believes that her OnlyFans account became public knowledge following her and her husband's appearance in a recent video, where they were featured alongside two other notable OnlyFans creators based in St. Louis. These individuals have garnered a significant online following.

However, the former English teacher has no regrets for her actions. She said, "I understand that it can be considered taboo or that some individuals might view it as something to be ashamed of, but I don't believe that sex work should carry that stigma," Coppage expressed. "However, I do wish that the circumstances had unfolded differently."

What Does The School Administration Says?

Although the school and the administration haven't made a decision yet, they took the decision to suspend Coppage. The school superintendent, Kyle Kruse, released a statement indicating that the district had received recent notifications suggesting that an employee may have shared unsuitable content on one or more online platforms.

Kruse went on to explain that the district had enlisted the services of legal counsel to carry out a thorough investigation into this issue. He emphasised that any actions taken as a result of the investigation would align with the school board's policies and be guided by legal counsel's advice.

What Is OnlyFans?

OnlyFans is a London-based internet content subscription service primarily utilised by people involved in the adult entertainment industry, including sex workers.

The platform features user-generated content that creators monetize through monthly subscriptions, tips, and pay-per-view content. Creators receive 80% of the earnings generated through these fees. In 2021, the company introduced OFTV, a free platform for safe-for-work content streaming. As of May 2023, OnlyFans boasted 3 million registered creators and 220 million registered consumers.

Creators on the platform set monthly subscription rates ranging from $3 to $75, and some users may pay additional fees for custom or pay-per-view content.
