'Best Bonus Mom' Girl Gives Stepmom Comforting Mother's Day Gifts

A Reddit user wrote about her stepdaughter's heart-melting gift for the upcoming Mother's Day, and netizens could not help but go 'awww!'. User u/FoxyMoon816 showed pictures of the gifts-- a stuffed toy that looks like a cow embracing a calf, a decorative bottle of milk, and best of all, a faux potted plant that reads, 'Best Bonus Mom'. Not only were the gifts adorable, but also made the new member of the little girl's family feel more welcome. 

Stepmom Feels Loved On Mother's Day

Reddit user u/FoxyMoon816 shared a touching moment in her life as a stepmother to a little girl. As Mother's Day was fast approaching, the child gifted her some things that made her feel special.

"I have been having a hard time with gaining confidence and being a mom as my stepkiddo's mom is still in the picture. I didn't think she truly saw me as a mom, just a friend that her dad was married to," the woman confessed.

"But today, she gave me these and said you're the big cow and I'm the little cow," she wrote, showing off a stuffed toy of a mama cow and her calf. The girl also gifted her a decorative milk bottle with a cow painted on it.

The little girl also gifted her stepmom a plastic flower pot which reads, 'Best Bonus Mom'. This message reassured the woman about being a stepmom to the little girl.

The post on the wholesome subreddit called r/MadeMeSmile has gone viral and netizens have shared positive messages with the woman. Some users even shared their personal experiences of feeling loved as stepparents. 

"You make her feel safe and loved is what that says to me!" one user wrote adding that they were a stepmother too. The original poster (OP) responded to the sweet comment saying, "I might cry!"

Another Reddit user wrote, "My kids have bonus parents like you and they make love and family bigger. One of my greatest honours in life is hearing my kids talk lovingly about them."

They added, "You’re doing a great job. You CHOSE your stepdaughter when she was already fully formed. How special is that!" OP replied, "She’s amazing! I wish I had a relationship with her bio mom like your kiddo's stepmom has with you."
