Enthusiasts Brave Snow To Attend Dog Event In Colorado
The snowy streets of Colorado were met with hundreds and thousands of attendees taking their golden friends to grace the event from around the world from Saint Petersburg to Florida. One such pet parent Charlie Alfrey also shared embarking on the road trip with his golden boy which was his first trip to snow. Despite the heavy snowfall, attendees also clicked the iconic picture from the entrance arc of the golden event depicting that nature's odds cannot damper their enthusiasm to celebrate their furry love and friends.
Many attendees also planned their leaves and payoffs months prior to the event to make sure not to miss the "golden opportunity" to attend the event. Charlie shared his excitement with TODAY, sharing that when he heard of the event last year he knew they had to make it this time. "We looked it up and thought, oh my gosh, (thousands of) golden retrievers in one spot. And so we said, ‘We got to do this.’"
The event was held on National Golden Retriever Day and has been a popular event for four years now becoming a wonderland for dog lovers and Wonderland for furry friends and pets, especially the goldies. However, the event was open for all pets and dogs from other breeds as well.
Despite the popularity of the event, the attendees and Coloradians have never experienced the event in such full force despite the inclement weather at its peak. Katie Ford, one of the attendees who brought her 6-year-old Retriever Rilo to the event said "It’s the best day, and I don’t even care about the weather, it’s so great. I feel my heart exploding. They’re so cute, every one of them is so cute."
The event features a variety of activities for dogs and their owners, such as a parade, costume contest, and agility course. The event is a popular way for Golden Retriever lovers to come together and celebrate their furry friends. The wide population of attendees observed in the event highlights the profound love of animal enthusiasts for dogs and their pets and highlights the human relationships with furry friends.
