The report claims that the female job candidates went through an extreme vetting process by Concentric Advisors, a security consulting firm during the background checks, which "included questions about pornography and sexual histories."

Among the many questions asked by the firm were asked what kind of pornography they liked, if they had nude photographs on their phones, or had engaged in extramarital affairs and if they had ever “danced for dollars”.

The invasive questions about “their sexual histories, past drug use and other parts of their private lives” was done in order to “indicate they were vulnerable to blackmail,” according to The Wall Street Journal.

The newspaper couldn’t find any male candidates who were asked similar questions for the same job.

A spokesperson for Gates told The Independent in a statement that the hiring process at the company is conducted with 'utmost respect' for each and every candidate and they have a zero-tolerance policy for all participants, including service providers, who break this principle.

“We have never received information from any vendor or interviewee in our 15+ year history that inappropriate questions were asked during the screening process,” the spokesperson said in the statement. “We can confirm, that after a comprehensive review of our records, no employment offer has ever been rescinded based on information of this nature.”

Concentric Advisors countered the allegations, defending their screening process, claiming it aims to assess the candidate's truthfulness and vulnerability to blackmail. The company asserted that not all information gathered during the interviews is shared with clients or used to determine employment decisions.

This is not the first time Gates has faced scrutiny. In 2019 when an employee alleged a sexual relationship with him, it lead to his resignation from Microsoft's board. Despite claiming an amicable end to the affair, questions persist.
