Actor, filmmaker and philanthropist Angelina Jolie criticised the Israeli government for their air strikes over Gaza in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war calling it a "deliberate bombing of a trapped population" referring to Gaza as an "open-air prison" and "mass grave".
Jolie shared her thoughts through a post on Instagram following Israel's deadliest bombing destroying Gaza's largest refugee camp. She highlighted the statistics of children killed in the war and slammed many world leaders and Israel for dismissing calls for a "humanitarian ceasefire" from across the world. However, the actor's father, Jon Voight slammed his daughter for her "anti-Israel stance" in a 3-minute-long video on X (formerly Twitter).
Angelina Jolie Slams Israel's Air Strikes, Calls Them "Deliberate Bombing"
Jolie, who is known for her humanitarian work across the globe, took to her Instagram to pen a brief note and put forward some horrific pictures of the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza destroyed by Israel's air strike.
Israel's air strikes and on-ground operations on Gaza are said to be in retaliation to Hamas' rocket strikes on Israel on October 7 killing over a thousand Israelis so far after militants breached Israel's borders through Gaza Strip and abducting many Israelis, including raping and parading women naked, ruthlessly killing babies, and seizing hostages. Israel, in retaliation, has killed more than 8000 Palestinians so far in its air strikes and ground searches, as per reports.
"Those Killed Also Include Innocent Children"
After many Internet posts claiming that Gaza's education authorities have officially declared an academic end after all of its students are dead claiming Israeli air strikes have "wiped off a whole generation", Jolie in her Instagram post criticised Israel claiming that more than 40% of people who killed were innocent children.
Jolie called the Israeli air strikes calling it "deliberate bombing of a trapped population" who have no place to flee. Jolie also wrote how "whole families have been murdered" highlighting the devastation.
Jolie Slams World Leaders
Jolie slammed some of the world leaders and international communities for giving Israel a free pass while "millions of Palestinian civilians are collectively punished and dehumanised."
She continued writing about how children, women and families are deprived of basic humanitarian aid such as food and medicine, which is against international law "while the whole world watches with the active support of many governments."
Jolie called world leaders "complicit of crimes" as she criticised the Israeli government for dismissing the persistent calls from around the world for a "humanitarian ceasefire" and blocking the security council of the UN from being imposed in both places.
Jolie's Post Details Jabalia Refugee Camp
As the actor shared devastated photos of the Jabalia refugee camp in Gaza in her post, she listed details about how the camp was the largest amongst the eight refugee camps with people fleeing from southern Palestine.
Jolie's post mentioned how there have been 116,011 refugees registered in the camp by UNRWA for 75 ears of the Israel-Palestine conflict since 1948 and yet the camp is spread out just in just 1.4 square kilometres of area.
Earlier, Jolie had also posted her views condemning Palestinian militants' surprise attack on Israeli towns on October 7 that ignited the war.
Jon Voight Slams Daughter Angelina Jolie
Academy Award-winning actor, Jon Voight condemned her daughter, Angelina Jolie's "anti-Israel stance" on his X account in a 3-minute long video captioned "Truth and Lies" with the backdrop of America's flag. The actor started the video talking about her daughter, Angelina Jolie, "I am very disappointed that my daughter, like so many, has no understanding of God's honour, God's truths."
The actor continued expressing his views on the ongoing war backing Israeli forces "protecting the land of God" and said "This is war. It is not going to be what the left thinks, it can't be civil now."

Israel Refuses To Ceasefire
Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel recently declared in a press briefing that Israel will not be agreeing to the "humanitarian ceasefire" between Israel and Gaza comparing it with the US's acts after the Pearl Harbour attack in 1941.
Netanyahu stated that calls for a ceasefire would mean Israel surrendering to terror and barbarism. He further compared its position to the US stating how the country did not ceasefire after 9/11 or the Pearl Harbour attack, and they won't either.
