It was quite surprising when, at Cooper High School in South Florida, 14 pairs of twins and one set of triplets graduated this month. It is also an unusual incidence for so many sets of twins to be present in a single year, which is why it both puzzled and amused the public and faculty. The high school had a total of 543 graduates which included two sets of identical twins and 12 sets of fraternal twins, in addition to one set of triplets.

14 Twin Pairs And 1 Set Of Triplets Graduate From Florida High School

The students and faculty were aware of the numerous sets of twins on campus, according to Principal Vera Perkovic speaking to NBC 6 South Florida, but only recently learned the exact number. She added that it was a special experience as they would come across the stage, she would shake their hand and give one a diploma, and then the second one would come over to do the same thing. "It just symbolized that they are their people, but also that they have been together all these years as twins."

Jocelyn Reed, who was graduating with her twin sister Gabrielle, said, "Your whole life when you're a twin, you kind of stand out. People are always pointing it out to you and talking about how you are a twin. So, it is kind of crazy to see that there are so many other people in the same situation," NBC Miami reported.

Gabrielle, on the other hand, said, "Everywhere I go, I'm lumped together with her and not seen as my person, so I'm excited to be able to have my own experiences." She also said that most of the twins are getting ready to take their paths to college after having been in classes together since elementary school.

5 pairs of twins and the triplets would stay together during their college years. Though there’s no official count, Broward County Public Schools believes the graduates have set a county record as most sets of twins to simultaneously graduate from one school.
