Cheating cost Steve more than just money, it also cost him the respect of the entire town after his wife Jenny decided to use print media advertising to call him out. The full-page advertisement read, “Dear Steve, I hope you’re happy with her. Now the whole town will know what a filthy cheater you are. From Jenny. PS. I bought this ad using your credit card.”

The advertisement calling Steve a “filthy cheater” was printed in the Australian newspaper Mackay and Whitsunday Life on page four. The newspaper posted a screenshot of the advertisement and responded to queries regarding the same.

The newspaper said they received dozens of messages about the advert and took to social media to address them. They wrote, “We do NOT know who Steve is, but apparently he’s been very very bad.”

The newspaper added that they would not be revealing any details about the scorned wife Jenny. Since it would be illegal to charge Steve's credit card without his consent, the editors decided to run the ad for free.

A user commented on the newspaper’s post and said, “When you block each other but you know he reads the paper”.

A hotel apologised to Jenny on behalf of all the Steve’s by writing on their billboard. The message read, “Dear Jenny, I’m Sorry. From all the Steves”.

Netizens have been praising Jenny for her method of revenge and called her a hero. A reporter named Jenny Noyes quipped, “I’ve gotta admit this is some huge Jenny energy”.

Another user said, “Good on you Jenny!” and said there was nothing like calling a person out on their terrible behaviour.

Any Steve who was in a relationship with someone named Jenny will now have to defend their honour against gossiping neighbours. Meanwhile, scorned lovers have discovered a new way to call out their cheating partners.

As country singer Carrie Underwood said, “Maybe next time he’ll think before he cheats”.
