A woman from Pune, Kavita Medar, recently uploaded a reel on Instagram in which she is simultaneously holding her baby and juggling bottles. The video has gained more than 2.4 million likes since it was uploaded. Set to the tunes of 'Angaaron' from the movie Pushpa 2, the video has become a big hit on social media.
In the video, Kavita, a bartender from Pune, is dressed in a green silk saree and juggles glass bottles skillfully with one hand and holds a toddler in the other. She then moves on to juggle bottles with fire inside and continues to hold her baby while performing these stunts.
One of the comments under the post said, “Women who say they can’t do things because of their baby, this video should inspire them.”
Kavita's background
Kavita was introduced to this flair style of bartending by her relative Raj Medar, after completing her B.Com Degree. Flair bartending is a performing art wherein bartenders perform tricks and complicated movements with glass bottles.
Soon after, Kavita moved to Pune and enrolled at the Flair Mania Bartending Academy. According to The Cocktail Story. “I used to wake up at 5 am and practice for 8-9 hours daily. Of course, practising with glass bottles and metal shakers means injury, but I persevered through them,” she told the platform.
Medar set a record in 2020 which was recorded in the World Book of Records, London, as the fastest female flair bartender. She was presented with this honour after she performed 110 flips while juggling glass bottles within just one minute.
Reach of the reel
The video has amassed a whopping 46.1 million views and 2.4 million likes since it was uploaded in June 6. More than 12 thousand Instagram users have commented on the post.
The comment section was full of praise for Kavita. Many expressed their awe and appreciation, while others were concerned about the safety of the child.
